Happiness is Now Exhibition

Solo Abstract Painting Exhibition 2024

Happiness is Now

When was the last time you felt truly happy? This is a question I posed to those around me during my research on happiness. Intriguingly, one girl turned the question back on me. I paused, reflected, and realise, Now, I’m happy with each moment of my life these days. This moment of reflection made me recognise how much I’ve transformed over the past few years.

This exhibition celebrates the happiness I’ve discovered throughout my life journey. Simple pleasures such as doing nothing can bring as much joy as watching a sunset. After exploring the concept of happiness extensively, I found that everyone perceives it differently. I began compiling a list of what brings me joy: daydreaming, the warmth of a loved one's hug, doing nothing with someone special, feeling free in my heart, unburdening my soul from attachments, gazing at the sky, watching sunsets, strolling through parks, the tranquil feeling of a Sunday, and understanding oneself.

Creating this series has brought me immense joy. I’ve used oil pastels as my primary medium because they are simple, organic, and light. To me, the process of identifying what makes you happy in your own unique way is crucial.

Understanding ourselves— from happiness to suffering, from sin to sorrow, from gratitude to compassion— enables us to accept and find our true happiness and peace.
